Our Move & New Place in PA

The day we moved from Illinois was a cold, rainy day. This reminded us of Noah's Ark because we carried all our 6 goats, 5 dogs, and 2 cats with us. Fain was Noah and I was Noah's wife and all of our children, too, were with us.

Pulling out from the little cottage we learned to love and enjoy while living in Illinois at Crest Haven. On our way to a new place.
The rented old farm house that we came to. This is a picture of it before we moved in.
Here is our house in December, all decorated in greenery and red ribbons. You can see a big swing set in the foreground. And our faithful red van----you'll hear the story later on.
This is the David & Tasha's school desk at the base of the stairways. You can see the entrance arch door that goes on into the kitchen. And to the left is the living room.
This is the living room and the piano where David is practicing his piano songs.
This is the kitchen, with cabinets painted the color of blue that match my kitchen hutch that Fain built for me.
This is a milking farm that is behind our house. It is such a beautiful scene to see them out our kitchen and upstairs bedroom windows. I love to watch all the clothes go on their moving clothes line. It inspires me to hang out clothes more and not be so lazy. This Old Order Mennonite family have 12 children.
There is a beautiful creek flowing between them and us.
This picture shows where the barn is located from the house.
There is an extra flat driveway between the house and the barn. We say it must be for Bro. Leidigh's motorhome to be parked. :)
This is the big barn where we built stantions sufficient for all our goats and their new born kids.
Upstairs is plenty space for storage and hay.
The goat's corral was set up on the "S" curb in front of the barn. The farm in the background is the organic milk farm where Samuel and David have been hired to help with early morning and evening chores while the farmer milks his 30 cows. It is just the jobs that they love to do. They ride up on their bikes unless they walk.

This is a view from the other way of the barn and the "S" curb where the goat pasture was fenced in.

Samuel is Fain's right hand when working in the barn with wood. Here they are building something for the goats.
This is what they built---bowl holders for each goat's feed.Nathaniel does a lot of hauling in fire wood from the woods out back and then splits it.
Shortly after we were here, we were invited to an adoption party for my nieces two children. Here we were helping Brent & Brenda (Burch) Lenhart celebrate the adoption of their two children--Kayla & James.

It was good to see Bro. & Sis. Warden at the "adoption party".
Our family picture taken outside by the creek in our back yard.
Nathaniel, Candace, Samuel, Natasha, and David
Another snapshot of our family. Only missing 2 other dogs and 1 cat.
Yes, Chauncey, our Irish Setter, is part of the family too. And she had family. Out of her 11, six lived to tell the story.
These are two of the six Irish Setter puppies that we raised and sold.
Here is one of the seven little cockapoos that our Mopsey had. Thank the Lord they almost sold as fast as hot cakes! We enjoyed them so much.
This is our "new" Mazda van that we were given after our faithful ole red van gave out. God is so good!

More Catching Up With Highlights From 2011

This & That

Boys are keeping busy using their "new" wood splitter.

We were surprised when our cat poked her head through the foil, covering the chimney pipe hole.

Almost harvest time, with the chickens and goats out there grazing.
Samuel loved his job of hauling the corn down to the storage rooms with the tractor.
Our "Crest Haven Christian Day School" was a good place to do school. Even the dogs tho't so.
A weekend field trip to the Antique Farm Show.
We invited Kezia and baby Elizabeth to go with us. Had a grand time!
Thrashing wheat by way of horse power.
Our five children with which the Lord has blessed us!
Candace---16 yrs. old
Natasha --now 13 yrs. old.
APPLE TIME!
Grandma and Grandpa Morley had a lot of apples to spare from their tree so we took advantage and put them to good use.
When we all tackle a job, it goes a lot faster. "Many hands make light work."

We dried lots of apples for a later snack.

We didn't want to waste all the peelings, so we boiled them with water and used the juice to make jelly.
The end result is worth all the hard work---apple sauce and jellies.

A NEW PUPPY JOINS US
David bringing home his new puppy---a cocker spaniel.
Trixie is her name--- a little shy yet.
David and his new friend.
Trixie is making herself at home.

Candace has always been good at getting babies to sleep. Here again, their kitty and David's puppy.

VISITORS--LEIDIGHS / BEN & DORCAS AND FAMILY
We were priveleged to have the Leidighs to come through with their motor home and visit us.
And we were very happy to have the Barths come visit again. Cousins enjoyed that!
Candace, Annette, and Natasha
Here they are---cousins and Grandma Morley.
We took a hay ride around and about the Crest Haven campus. The cousins were so privileged to have their Grandma and Aunt Regina to go with them. After all, we needed to make sure that Peter drove well.

CAMPING IN OUR "BACK" YARD
David is helping to watch breakfast as it cooks.
There is nothing like a smoke-tasting breakfast of fried potatoes, sausage and eggs. Delicious! Nathaniel is filleting the fish he caught that morning, preparing them for another meal.
Fain roasting ears of corn and the fish from our morning catch. They were delicious!
Here is our campsite--right on campus. Can't make camp without roasting marshmallows.
Here's David having fun with their canoe. The race is on!Guess who? The canoe is the one Fain built in TX. It still's holding up.
Nathaniel with Mopsey enjoying the ride.
Samuel with Daisy as the captain.
